The young horse is unsure of the hound running past. I was interested in the working relationship of the horse and hound with the rider. I pictured the composition of this original painting, the shying horse, the exuberant young hound and the steadying huntsman, as a snapshot of their working life.
This painting is complemented by a pale soft grey/taupe frame and a moss green mount. It is protected behind glass.
