This painting captures a regular scene at the racecourse during a mid week race meeting.  It depicts the care of the handler for his horse. In this atmospheric snapshot of racing life, the racehorse in the winner’s enclosure has a well deserved drink and a wash down.  The steam from his exertions is rising from his back on this winter’s day. The racecourse offices are in the background.
