This striking breed has impressive curled horns and characteristic markings on the face. They are at home on the hills of Cumbria and North Yorkshire. I was on a weekend break in the Spring with friends, and these Rough Fell sheep were on the nearby farm.  I was struck by this group and their interesting formation so I took a few reference photos.  The background colour to this painting is a warm natural green.

 This painting has a white wooden frame. It has a protective satin varnish.
